Identity Pt. 2
Last week I ended with the statement that we must worship God the in the way He sees us. And we are amazing, because he created us to be amazing. Though we must never raise ourselves higher than Him, we must worship Him in how he created us to be. Learn to respond to who he has created us to be instead of reacting to who we don’t want to be. The more we see ourselves as He sees us, the more beautiful and pleasing our worship becomes.
Kris Valloton says “You become what you think the most important in your life thinks you are. Who is the most important person in your life? I hope it’s God. So that must mean that if God is the most important person in your life, you will become what you think God thinks of you. You are amazing because He says you are! Renew your mind! Get right thinking on who God thinks you are.
You were born amazing- as royalty, as a prince. 1 Peter 2:9 says:
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness in His wonderful light.”
You are a royal priesthood! We minister to the Lord in our praise and worship, but we are a royal priesthood. Your Father is the King of Kings. You are the king that He’s the King of. This about this: Your Dad is God! And He created You! What else could You be other than amazing? You must see yourself as He sees you. Because how you see yourself will determine the kind of worship we will bring- the kind that’s pleasing to Him. It is pleasing for Him that you know that you are amazing. You were made in His image! You are righteous before the Father through the blood of Jesus.
How your Father made you is amazing, and you must see yourself that way as you worship. The next time spend time in worship (which could be now) I encourage you to remember to worship as you are, how he made you. Than as you offer yourself as a sacrifice of worship, knowing who you are, you’re worship will be fragrant and beautiful. As you turn your eyes to the Father, in His presence, adoring His for who He is as He pours out His love on you, His son and daughter- His amazing creation. You may not have had an earthly father, or a good earthly father. But know that your heavenly Father is good. He tells you who you are- you’re amazing.
