What is Gods will for my life?
Are you currently praying about direction? Wondering what Gods will may be? Should you move to another city? Buy a newer house? Change to another car or perhaps buy a second vehicle? Who should you marry? What should you do for a living?
It is easy to get paralysed when facing a major decision. We can quickly become so entangled with doing the right thing that we end up doing no-thing. I have heard it said and I believe it to be true: “With God, the light is green unless it is red.” We have a lot more freedom in our decision making than we think. When we seek God, he can and does sometimes give clear directions. But when he does not, the decision is up to us. So what do we do if faced with that situation? Glad you asked.
The bottom line of the will of God is for His Kingdom to spread. It is for you to be doing things now that will still matter 100 years from now (things that have eternal significance). These questions may help in your decision making process:
What could I be more involved in that will still matter 100, or even 1000 years from now?
Where and how could I have the greatest Kingdom impact?
What would need to change for the above to happen?
Use wisdom in your decision making. Base your decision on listening prayer and on the Bible. But when in doubt, please don’t be afraid of forward progress. It is easier to turn a moving car than one that stands still.
