Who is Jesus?

The single most important question any of us will ever be asked and have to answer – no matter what our background, beliefs, and life circumstances – is ‘Who is Jesus to me?’ Jesus is incomparable. He is unlike any other historical figure, from Aristotle to Gandhi to any religious leader. The Bible says, “The Son [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God.” (Colossians 1:15)

Who is Jesus to YOU?

Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” “No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 10:10, 14:6) The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ were defining moments in the history of humankind. Your relationship to Jesus – your take on the question above – ultimately defines you and all of us.

What Must I Do?

Jesus is Good News. No matter what is in your past, no matter how good or bad you’ve been, no matter what the mistakes and sins —you can have new life in Jesus because of God’s love for you. The opposite is exact, as well. Without Jesus, our path and sin only lead us towards death and ultimate separation from God, who is the only source of life. While our sin separated us from God, Jesus’ death on the cross made it possible for us to be reconciled back to God. So we must ask, “What must I do to be saved?” This question was asked of Paul from his jailer. The answer was simple, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:30) So how do you do that? Jesus answers that question in John 14:6, “I [Jesus] am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” We must believe that “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13).

In your own way, with your own words, you can turn to God and pray (talk out loud to God) confessing that in Jesus, you have forgiveness of sin and a new life with Jesus as the Lord. If you prayed, congratulations! You have now started a life long journey as a follower of Jesus.
